IACC Law Enforcement Training Summary
Port of El Paso
July 23, 2024
The IACC recently conducted a comprehensive training session as part of our Law Enforcement IP Training Program, in collaboration with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the International Border Crossing in the Port of El Paso. This program equips authorities across the nation with the knowledge and tools necessary to strategically detect and seize counterfeit goods.
Held at CBP’s port facility, the training was attended by 83 law enforcement officials from various agencies, including Agricultural Specialists, the Food & Drug Administration, Regulatory Audit, Import and Entry Specialists, and the Centers of Excellence and Expertise in sectors such as Pharmaceuticals, Petroleum, Electronics, Agriculture, Apparel, Footwear, and Textiles. Representatives from 36 brands provided hands-on product identification and personalized instruction aimed at preventing the importation of counterfeit goods.
We would like to express our appreciation to the officials at the Port of El Paso for their invaluable assistance in organizing this event and for including other agencies to strengthen enforcement efforts and intercept violators. The IACC remains a steadfast supporter of law enforcement in the fight against counterfeiting.
