What is the Board Advisory Group?

The Advisory Group is comprised of representatives from law firms, product security firms, investigative firms, and young professionals who will work with and advise the Board on relevant matters, including some participation in Board Meetings.

Why was the Board Advisory Group created?

We believe it is essential to have a structure in place for all IACC members to provide comments and feedback to leadership and staff. The Advisory Group will help facilitate these essential conversations between all member groups and IACC leadership.

Which groups does the Board Advisory Group represent?

Individuals representing our product security firm, law firm, investigative firm and young professionals members are on the Advisory Group.

What will the Board Advisory Group do?

The Advisory Group provides recommendations, advice, and support to the Board and IACC staff. The Advisory Group meets regularly and will collect feedback from IACC members and relay their views to the IACC Board. It will be an important channel for members to provide their views.

When was the Board Advisory Group created?

The Advisory Group formed in January 2018 following the organization’s changes to the structure and nomination process for its Board of Directors. These changes were announced in April 2017.

Do Advisory Group Members vote at Board Meetings?

No. Only elected Members of the IACC’s Board of Directors are permitted to vote on issues brought before the Board.

How does a person become a member of the Board Advisory Group?

We are recruiting members that may be interested in serving on the Advisory Group. Those interested can email Meghan Hutton at meghang@iacc.org.

How long is a representative’s term on the Board Advisory Group?

Members of the Board Advisory Group will serve a one-year term, which may be renewed for an additional year.

What are the benefits of being on the Board Advisory Group?

As an Advisory Group Member, you will have the opportunity to work closely with IACC leadership, providing counsel that will help shape the direction of the organization and its programs. It also offers unique opportunities to network with other members who are closely engaged with the IACC and its work.
