July 24, 2024
The IACC recently organized Industry Trade Day at a Workshop co-sponsored by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and U.S. Customs and Border Protection in San Jose, Costa Rica.
The workshop focused on intellectual property enforcement of government-to-government training, followed by a day with industry participation. Officials from Costa Rica’s Customs Department as well as officials from neighboring countries participated in small group instruction. Rights holder shared their expertise with hands-on product identification and individualized instruction.
This program provides authorities the tools to act strategically in the detection and seizure of counterfeit goods and deter sales of counterfeit products.
We would like to extend our appreciation to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the opportunity to organize Industry Trade Day. These collaborative efforts serve to strengthen partnerships between government and industry to detect and deter transnational organized crime.
